The BMW 3 Series uses a 15.6-gallon gas tank in each trim level. The tank size is one of the minor stats that does not change in any 2022 3 Series model, but it holds more than enough gas to handle any job. The EV trims of the car equip a small tank, just 10.6 gallons, taking full advantage of the MPGs to offer miles of driving range.
The 3 Series has more than 560 miles of maximum range with the 330i model. Because there’s a long list of different trims with different builds, obviously some will return higher gas mileage than others. Starting with the 2022 330i, it’ll get 26mpg city, 36 miles per gallon highway city, for 30 miles per gallon combined. Looking at the other side, the faster 2022 BMW M3 gets 16mpg city, 23 miles per gallon highway city, and 19mpg overall.
The 3 Series uses a 255hp 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder. Just like the different range of fuel-efficient engines, there is also a wide range of horsepower. The engine that’s above the base 2.0L is the 3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbocharged 6-cylinder engine that produces 382 horsepower on the M340i and 473 horsepower on the 2022 M3 trim. Clearly, the 2022 BMW 3 Series is a vehicle that’s a level above normal luxury, with powerful performance and a striking design.
